QR Code Creation Updated

Method 1 (Digital)

This method allows workers to create QR code that they can save on a personal device to use at scanners for quick Timeclock actions.

Worker Scan Codes

Your workers unique scan codes can be found in your Tendrel Worker menu in the Tendrel console. You will need to hand out these unique scan codes to workers to allow workers to create their corresponding QR codes. They will do this in the QR Fast Pass app.

Downloading QR Fast Pass

You can download the QR Code Fast Pass app on the Apple App Store and the Android Play Store.1

QR Code Creation

Once you have downloaded the QR Fast Pass app, open it and click Use Custom Text at the bottom of the screen.

2

You will then be prompted to input the QR code contents, put the workers unique scan code into the field. Then click Submit to generate the QR code.

3

After you click Submit. The QR code will be generated and workers can save/screenshot this QR code to use at all scanners on site.

4

Method 2 (Paper)

This method allows supervisors to make QR codes, badges and stickers in bulk for use at scanners at your site.

Downloading Scan Codes

Your workers unique scan codes can be found in your Tendrel Worker menu. You will need to create a spreadsheet with each scan code in it. For example, in Column A add Worker Full Name (e.g. Connor Smith) and in Column B their scan ID (e.g. 12345), do this row by row for each worker, save this as a CSV file. You will soon be able to export scan codes out of the console worker menu into a CSV.

Turning Scan Codes into QR Codes

We recommend Avery.com as a convenient way to generate QR codes (we do not have any affiliation with them). Go to MyAccount - Projects | Avery.com and start a New Project. Choose your desired template. Select orientation and then select QR and Barcodes on the left vertical bar. Click Next

Select Add QR/Barcode in the left column. Select spreadsheet and import the CSV file with your worker scan codes. Click Next.

Select QR code from the Industry Standard Format dropdown. Drag and drop the imported data on the left into the “Enter barcode text” field on the right. Click Finish and you’ll have your unique barcodes on each label. Move and scale the sample QR Code as needed. Click Finish.

Click Preview & Print to save your project and create a free printable PDF.
